Okay, no images at the webspace so I've sent through logs. Thanks again for your help David. Teri

HI Sean, There's not a lot that can be said about it from this end beyond what the message says. PHP apps apparently don't have permission to write to that folder; something in your specific server setup needs tweaking; but only the operator of the server can know that, as they could have set up anything, and it's not possible to know from here. If you're sure that the DAC permissions are OK, then perhaps there are some MAC permissions? (e.g. SELinux on a Linux system). David

Hi Teri, I received the email with two log files attached. Only one of them was related to a restore operation; and that restore operation was of the database only (i.e. not including, plugins, themes, or - relevantly to this thread - uploads). Do you have a log of an attempt to restore uploads? If you get tired of tracking this down, then the quick way to fix the problem is to unzip the uploads backup onto your PC, and to upload the contents manually into wp-content/uploads. No other special trickery is needed for the uploads. Best wishes, David

Hi David, I tried the restore a few times now and there are no logs being stored. The uploads file is 218MB compressed. I'm wondering if the size is the problem. I'm trying to get this working on a test server and need it to work properly so that it moves correctly onto the live server. So, it would be good to get it working. I'm going to delete everything on the test side and try it again tomorrow. Also, I sent you another email. I'm getting a server error message and sent you a screen shot. Thanks for any help. Teri

HI David, How can i extract the backup files manually when i have multiple archives for the same folder? I am thinking to extract uploads folder manually to avoid this happening as i am always facing such issues with bigger backups. Thanks

Hi Karim, On a Linux or other POSIX system, you just use the "unzip" command on each of the zip files in turn, and they will then all be extracted into the same folder on your computer. On Windows, you can install zip.exe, or you can unzip from Explorer and then drag/drop the resulting folders in turn. Basically, the final "wp-content/uploads" folder should be the merged contents of each of the uploads zips. If you unzip one of the uploads zips and look at what you get, you'll see what I mean. Hi David, Thanks for the tip. Would it also work the same way if i use the extract option from cpanel file manager? Do i have to extract all the parts of zip or i should initiate the first and all others would be automatically extracted as a chained zip? Thanks

Hi Teri, 218Mb would normally be OK, but it depends completely on the CPU and time resources that the web hosting company makes available. One work-around is to go into the 'expert' settings, and reduce the 'split' size down to 50Mb. Then you will have 5 zips, no larger than 50Mb, and can restore them one-by-one, which you might have enough resources for. The final manual way is just to unzip them on your PC, and upload via FTP. Best wishes, David

log says find/replace has been done but restored site still links to original address

As per title. Restore log says find/replace has been done but restored site still links to point to original address. Any ideas? can I manually update the db? or do I need to re-restore? Thanks

Hi Karim, I don't know enough about CPanel's file manager to answer that - you could try it via trial-and-error. However, if you've got CPanel, then you may be able to enable shell access, and use the "unzip" binary. The zips are not chained. They are all regular stand-alone zips. It does not matter in which order you unzip them. Best wishes, David

Hi Ian, The answer to the question depends on the specifics. Are you able to send me the log (find it in wp-content/updraft), please? (Send to: contact at updraftplus.com). Best wishes, David

Export subsite from a Multisite

Howdy, Favorite plugin ever FYI! My only issue at the moment. I don't think it is currently available as a feature, but if it is somehow would be really awesome is I have a wordpress multisite network with many subsites in it. Im wondering how via this plugin I can do a migration of just a subsite from the multisite network TO just a regular standalone WP installation? Help is MUCH appreciated as I'm having to pay people out of pocket to currently do this and I'd rather pay you to make it work via this plugin unless it's already a feature im unaware of! Thanks! Kyle

Greetings, I recently upgraded to premium - version 1.8.13.14 I have a daily schedule at 00:05 for my backups. Before the upgrade, my backups were running at 00:05, as scheduled. Now, they seem to run at random time. Here is what I see in my CP:
Next scheduled backups:
Files:	Sat, March 29, 2014 00:05
Database:	At the same time as the files backup
Time now:	Fri, March 28, 2014 08:28
Last backup job run:	Fri, March 28, 2014 07:40
The last backups were executed at: 2014-03-28 7:40 2014-03-27 7:16 2014-03-26 3:51 2014-03-25 0:10 Please help. I have a CRON job that runs and complains when it does not see the backups. This breaks it. Thank you.

Hi Olivier,
I have a daily schedule at 00:05 for my backups. Before the upgrade, my backups were running at 00:05, as scheduled.
Can you explain what you mean by that? The free version of UpdraftPlus has no feature to schedule a particular time. So, I do not understand what you are saying here.
The last backups were executed at:
The WordPress scheduler relies on your website having visitors. (No visitors = WordPress doesn't run = WordPress can't run its scheduled tasks). So, it sounds like your website has no visitors until the times you list. Take a look at www.easycron.com to schedule some automated visits. Best wishes, David

I don't have the free version anymore installed. Maybe 00:05 was the default timing then?

That explains it, as this site is not live yet. Thanks! Olivier.

how do I unlink premium license?

Hi I have the personal updraft premium license and I have enabled it on my local dev installation along with my production wordpress site, however now I want to start again with a new dev install on our new server which, once finished will become the new production site. How do I unlink one of the activated licenses so that I can use it on the new site instead?

Hi Sam, In general, licences are not recyclable - as if a 2-site licence gets installed 4 times, then we have to budget for twice as much support; so we'd have to raise the prices. But, since this is really meant to be a re-use of the same licence (dev version of the same site), I have reset the relevant licence for you and you can now reclaim it on a new install. Best wishes, David

I have this same problem. I am using Godaddy's Wordpress managed hosting. If I use the WP Control plugin and find a problem, what do I do then??? This was working fine until I attempted a manual backup right around midnight (within seconds of midnight). Then I started to the the (negative) countdown for the next rertry -- going more and more negative. Fred

Hi Frederick, Crontrol will show you a list of tasks registered with the WordPress scheduler, and the times that they are due to run. If you have tasks that are due to run in the past, and have not run, then this shows that the scheduler is not working. This page also has useful information about the scheduler, if it is broken and how to fix it: http://updraftplus.com/faqs/my-scheduled-backups-and-pressing-backup-now-does-nothing-however-pressing-debug-backup-does-produce-a-backup/ Best wishes, David
