Re: Export subsite from a Multisite
Hi Kyle,
I emailed you off-line about this last Thursday - check your spam folder (or let me know, and I can send the email again). The email was from contact at updraftplusDOTcom.
Best wishes,

Re: I want to keep Old Backup files with New Backup Files
Hi Marit,
Can you explain that again, please? The second sentence says "it keeps the old one" and then says "'[it] removes the old db", which seems to say the opposite!

Migrating a stand-alone site into a network
Migrating a stand-alone site into a network - I guess I should of looked this up before buying the Migration Add-On.
I get the following error:
Errors:
Error: You are running on WordPress multisite - but your backup is not of a multisite site.
So this is not supported yet? (as usual this is something that needed to be done ASAP)

Re: Migrating a stand-alone site into a network
I found another way to migrate their site to a multi site install, and removed the UpdraftPlus purchases from their install.
Since I could not use the UpdraftPlus add-on with their site, is it possible to set the Migration add-on in my account back to inactive so I can use it elsewhere.

Re: Migrating a stand-alone site into a network
Hi Wayne,
The Migrator add-on is unlimited; it can be installed again already.
We did write some code a year ago that can import a single site into a multisite - but the guy who was funding it then vanished and we never finished testing it. I'm not sure how well it works now when activated. If you send me a single site you want to test, then I can do so (no promises or timescales though!).

Re: Migrating a stand-alone site into a network
Thank you for responding, however at this time I have no more sites that need migrating. If someday I do have a single site back-up that you can play with, I will keep that in mind or hopefully somebody else can send you one to test. When the single to multi-site migration feature does become available please let me know.

Store backup in another folder of same server
Hi David,
Can you add an option to store backup on some other location of same server?
Today i was trying to do this but i had to use ftp for this and it was not working... i don't know for what reason but it wasn't.
It would be a good feature to store backup on a different folder of the same server.
Secondly, can you also add an option to ftp a previous created backup to some other server?
Currently the backup which is created after configuring ftp could be moved to another location but it would be really helpful if we could move our already created backups without re-creating them.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Thanks

Re: Store backup in another folder of same server
Hi Karim,
Currently the backup which is created after configuring ftp could be moved to another location but it would be really helpful if we could move our already created backups without re-creating them. For this one, you just need to set up the second site to use FTP to access the backup location, and then click on "Rescan remote storage" in the "restore" section. Then it will detect the backup and be able to download it.
Can you add an option to store backup on some other location of same server?I'm not sure about this. Generally, we discourage people from backing up to the same server. It makes no sense. If you lose the server, then you lose everything. Cloud storage is so cheap (or even free, e.g. the first 15Gb on Google Drive), that it seems like an unnecessary risk. If you must do it, then FTP or SFTP is the present way that makes it possible to do it. David

Cant login after migrating content from another website
I've just restored my website content to a new location using UpdraftPlus: Migrate but now when I'm trying to login to the new website control panel it takes me to the old website?
Is there any way to correct this?

Re: Cant login after migrating content from another website
Hi Tomek,
Did you remember to tick the search/replace box? See: http://updraftplus.com/faqs/migrated-site-searchreplace-database-can-now/
If you did, then can you try visiting the admin area in a different web browser? Sometimes web browsers cache redirects, and it is possible that this is the problem. (Also, if you tell me the site address, I can check from here).
Best wishes,
David

Re: I want to keep Old Backup files with New Backup Files
Hi David
There were 5 files (zipped) in old backup including the db backup file. and when I have taken the new backup, it shows 9 files including the db backup file (it shows the latest date I have taken backup). But to me there should be 10 files with 2 db backup files. As the old db backup file is not there, I cannot restore my old site.... Please advise what to do.
Many Thanks
Marit

Re: I want to keep Old Backup files with New Backup Files
Hi Marit,
How many zips there are depends on how big your site is (UpdraftPlus will split content of the same kind (e.g. plugins, themes) into a second zip, if it needs to, depending on your settings). So, this question is hard to answer. The best thing to do is to consult your backup report. Have you set an option to be emailed report when a backup completes? If not, then I'd recommend setting one - and then read what the email says.
Best wishes,
David

Re: I want to keep Old Backup files with New Backup Files
Hi David
Yes I already set the email system for getting updates about backup. here is the last one I have taken and report:
==================================================
Plugins (files: 1)

Others (files: 1)

====================================================
And also it has the previous backup, but unfortunately it is a total of: 5 files(current) + 4 Files (previous) = 9 files
and found the previous database backup file is relapsed with the current database backup file.
Please advise if there is any option to keep the old database backup file intact.
Many Thanks

Re: I want to keep Old Backup files with New Backup Files
Hi Marit,
Please can you send a copy of the log file for the backup which you think is missing the database? Also, a screenshot of the backup files you have would be good, for comparison. Send to: contact@updraftplus.com

Re: I get 404 errors
Please share the code you added in .htaccess I am having the same problem and the link in the FAQ does not provide info about it, just to check the permissions and trying to set the permalinks which does not work in my case.

Re: Store backup in another folder of same server
Hi David,
Thank you for the solution to rescan remote storage, i never had idea of it... so thanks :)
Secondly, i can understand that it makes no sense to you as you are thinking in a different perspective. In most of the shared hosting sites are stored in sub-directories for addon domains so cloning a site on same server is usually a requirement with many of us. A local directory backup and local directory restore (other than default directory) would be really helpful.
Thanks

Re: I get 404 errors
Hi Kevin,
I think that WordPress will output the .htaccess contents for you if you go to the dashboard, and Settings -> Permalinks and press "Save Settings". It tries to write them out, but if it can't, I think it displays the contents on the screen for you to write manually.
Best wishes,
David
