Hi Ken,
Perhaps your web hosting company decided to disable UD? Some cheap hosts are really draconian with backups during the day time, and just turn things off when they see them running - use the facility to schedule for overnight if you suspect that's happening (or change web hosts!). UD doesn't have any code to de-activate itself (or de-activate anything else).
Regarding the log file pasted above; there's nothing abnormal in there - you'd need to let it run for a while longer to see how it progress; it's only reached (3), and goes up to (10) before concluding that something failed.
Regarding the 0 bytes, the only time we've seen that before, it's cause by a proxy server somewhere in between your web server and your PC. If that's the case, then downloading manually via FTP is the work-around. (Or download direct from the cloud storage, if you're sending the backups to the cloud).
I hope something in there helps!
David
